Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received today Monday a phone call from his Somali counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi “Farmajo” Mohamed.
Somali President expressed his appreciation over the historical relations between both countries, praising Egypt’s role in supporting Somalia.
Somali president also expressed his country’s appreciation for the technical support from Egypt, as well as its defensive stance with Somalia in regional and international forums. He stressed the strong relations between Egypt and Somalia.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed Egypt’s keenness to activate various aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, stressing that Egypt will continue to provide technical support to the people of Somalia and also its effort to help build state institutions and restore security and stability.
The conference call discussed ways to boost bilateral relations. The Somali president reviewed the latest developments in Somalia, the steps taken by the central government to restore security and stability in the country, and to overcome the various challenges facing it, especially terrorism.
