Somali Government delivers Medical Aid and Equipment to Kismayo to Support Jubaland COVID-19 Response

On Sunday, Somali Federal government officials led by staff from the Office of the Prime Minister arrived in Kismayo with a consignment of medical aid and equipment to support Jubaland State’s COVID-19 response.

The consignment was received at Kismayo’s Sayid Mohamed Abdullah Hassan International Airport by the Jubaland Minister of Health, Mursal Khalif.

The Minister thanked the federal government for the aid items and their support and commitment to combating the COVID-19 outbreak within the country.

During their brief visit, the federal government officials toured dedicated COVID-19 health centres and facilities.

They also engaged with Jubaland officials and health providers to assess the regional response to the virus outbreak, and identify their challenges and needs in order to tailor future support to the region.
