“Inter did everything to recruit Lionel Messi”

Inter Milan have made a tremendous offer for Lionel Messi in the past, but the Argentine strategist has rejected that strategy.

Inter Milan tried to recruit Lionel Messi from Barcelona in 2008. This was revealed by former Nerazzurri technical manager Marco Branca.

The 32-year-old Argentine, now considered one of the greatest players in the history of football, including six Ballon d’Or awards, was just 21 when the Lombard team tried to take it from their Catalan home. Branca sa Inter “Did it all” to sign the Argentine international, even offering him better pay terms than those he had at Camp Nou. “Yes, we moved after him but Leo did not want to leave Barcelona”, Branca revealed in an interview with Libero. “He was very grateful to the club. It proves that money doesn’t always come first.”

Recently, former interior president Massimo Moratti had also mentioned the Argentine genius and emphasized it “He is everyone’s dream, but he will not leave Barcelona”.

Branca worked with Inter after his playing career from 2002 to February 2014, attracting stars such as Diego Milito, Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder to San Siro. Two years after the unsuccessful attempt to sign Pulga, the Inter hat trick was led by Jose Mourinho, especially to stop Barça from his path to glory in the Champions League. At the end of the event, Lombardy then dominated Bavaria thanks to a double from another Argentine, in person from Milito.
