Evariste Ndayishimiye, candidate for the ruling party and elected president of Burundi on Monday with 68.72% of the vote, saw his victory questioned by his main opponent Agathon Rwasa. Unless the opposition has successfully appealed, General Ndayishimiye, 52, will succeed President Pierre Nkurunziza, in power since 2005.
