31 dead in 24 hours in hospital, new reduction in intensive care

In 24 hours, 31 people in France died of the new coronavirus, the Health Directorate-General announced on Monday. According to the daily press release, the number of patients admitted to the intensive care unit has decreased again.

The coronavirus epidemic has caused 31 new deaths in 24 hours – the same number as the day before – in French hospitals, where the number of intensive care patients continues to decline, according to the assessment announced Monday, June 1, by the Directorate-General for Health.

This gives the total death rate to 28,833, including 18,506 in hospitals, but the figures for deaths in social and medico-social facilities (Ehpad) have not been updated since Friday and should be Tuesday.

“1,302 patients with severe form of Covid-19 are admitted to intensive care,” according to the press release, 17 less compared to the assessment on Sunday.

Four regions (Ile-de-France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France) account for 73% of patients admitted to intensive care.
