Sevilla FC – Betis (2-0), Sevilla win it

The La Liga championship started on Thursday with a Sevilla derby. Lopeteguis made it 2-0.

After more than three months of interruption, and in the Bundesliga’s footsteps, the Liga resumed on Thursday with the famous opposition between the two Sevilla clubs. The logic was respected in this part with the success of the band in Lopetegui. The locals took the upper hand over their opponents during the second period, with two goals scored within six minutes (56th and 62nd).

Ocampos, the man in the form of Seville

Former Marseille player Lucas Ocampos opened the scoring on penalty. It is the fifth straight game he has received in the championship, making 14 crucial moves for his very first year in Spain. However, the punishment was fairly generous, although it was consistent throughout the game. Up to this point, Betis had suffered but without breaking, dismissing all the offensive for his sworn enemy. But when the lock was released it became easier for Sevilla FC.

The break was then provided by the Brazilian Fernando. The former Galatasaray player placed a winning header after a two-corner kick, dropped the injured animal. Although there was about half an hour left to play, there was no longer too much excitement in this derby. Nabil Fékir and his teammates were too shy throughout the game to hope to turn things around.

By winning, Sevilla consolidates its third place in the rankings. Although there are still ten days to play, the Andalusians are well on their way to return to the Champions League next season. Betis, for its part, looks further down, with only 8 points before the first relegation.
