While Covid-19 has already killed more than 200,000 Europeans, the European Union has started vaccination by subsidizing research and reserving hundreds of millions of doses from pharmaceutical laboratories. It puts almost € 3 billion on the table to protect its 450 million citizens from the virus, but also those from less-favored third countries. Is a vaccine in sight? Can Europe’s dependence on imports of medicines produced in China and India be reduced? We are discussing this with three members.
