Mogadishu- (Jowhar.com) Ahmed Abdullahi Bashane, the station’s commander, and other soldiers were killed in the blast.
Also among those killed was Major Abdibasid Mohamud Cagey, the commander of the Waliyow Adde division in the Benadir region, who died of his injuries.
The blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) vehicle and caused casualties.
Police have cordoned off Maka Al Mukarammah Road and there has been no word from the federal government about the blast. The injured were taken to the city’s hospitals for treatment.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but Somali-based al-Qaeda affiliated group al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for recent attacks in the Horn of Africa country.
