DANAB forces destroy Al-Shabaab bases

The command of the 16th DANAB Battalion has carried out a planned operation in the last few hours in Bay region, destroying Al-Shabaab bases.

The operation took place in Buur Heybe, Jira Kolow, Durdurow, Saxweyn and Yaaq-doomar, which are under the control of Burhabaka district.

DANAB officials who led the operation said that they destroyed Al-Shabaab bases in the areas where the operation took place.

Al-Shabaab militants have claimed responsibility for the bombings, which killed more than 100 people in the capital, Mogadishu.

The US-trained DANAB commandos are conducting operations in al-Shabaab strongholds, with some US forces taking part in the operation.
