Restaurants all over France are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. While some chefs have hung up their aprons, others have decided to gather and use their skills to help the country’s most vulnerable.
A charity initiative called “Les Køkkenines solidaires” (solidarity kitchen) shot to fame during France’s first Covid-19 lockdown last spring. At that time, the kitchens made 20,000 meals for disadvantaged communities in the country.
As France – and its restaurants – are working on a second shutdown of the coronavirus, the project is back to help again and the chefs involved hope to be able to help even more during this autumn break.
