Ten years ago, the law on patient protection and affordable care, better known as Obamacare, was signed by Barack Obama himself. The Democratic president’s signature policy ushered in a revolution in the United States by expanding affordable health care coverage to an unprecedented number of Americans. Since then, its popularity has increased, with support for it increasing when the Covid-19 pandemic breaks out. But over the past decade, Republicans have repeatedly tried to repeal the law and taken their fight all the way to the Supreme Court. Our US correspondents give us this special report.
