The Château de Versailles has been a hive of activity as everyone prepares for its grand reopening on Wednesday, May 19, with the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions in France.
Dusting, hanging works, restoring marble … The extensive team at the Palace of Versailles is hard at work to welcome the public again from 19 May.
Louis XIV’s palace is open to 800 visitors every half hour. Tourists must book in advance and these restrictions continue until at least June 9th.
Catherine Pégard, the president of the castle, expressed her “great emotion” at the idea of ”reviving this place” and “rediscovering the world for which it was built”.
