France has been criticized for the slow development of its vaccination campaign compared to its European neighbors. To speed up vaccine development, the French health authorities are changing their tactics.
Soon, the nurses will be able to give their backs without medical supervision and pharmacies are also waiting to get the green light to offer vaccinations.
In the meantime, temporary vaccine centers are being created. So far, health care professionals over the age of 50 can get a shot at a handful of hospitals, but as of next week, about 100 centers will open.
Further announcements on France’s vaccine expansion are expected on Thursday at a review by Prime Minister Jean Castex and Health Minister Olivier Véran.
