The Rwandan start-up helping motorcycle taxis go electric

Rwanda-based start-up Ampersand has an ambitious goal: to convert all motorcycle taxis in the country to electric bikes by 2025.

The company, which makes both electric motorcycles and batteries, has so far 50 motorcycle taxis among its customers, who can they also use Ampersand’s “exchange stations” to recharge their vehicles.

He hopes to increase this count to 500 drivers by early 2022.
