Coup in Sudan: army dissolves government and arrests leaders

In tonight’s issue: Sudan’s army seized power early Monday. First soldiers deployed in the capital, as the military declared a state of emergency.

The transitional government that brought the nation to a civilian government was dissolved and civilian leaders were arrested.

In just a few weeks the military was supposed to hand over the leadership of the transition council to civilians, now Sudan’s future is once again in limbo.
