The British actor and comedian Russell Brand has entered a plea of not guilty in a London court regarding charges of rape and sexual assault involving four women from over twenty years ago.
Mr. Brand, who was once one of the UK’s most prominent broadcasters, appeared at Southwark Crown Court and refuted all five criminal allegations.

At 49 years old, he has consistently denied engaging in non-consensual sexual acts since the claims were first made public two years prior.
In April, British prosecutors revealed that Mr. Brand faced charges including two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault against four women between 1999 and 2005.
